P&O has become connected to the exciting world of sustainability and energy efficiency in buildings through our involvement in the design of passive houses. To date, we have provided structural engineering services for at least 20 passive houses & buildings, including both new construction and renovations. By using innovative materials and construction detailing, we are able to minimize if not eliminate thermal bridging within a structure in order to meet the strict passive house standards. As energy efficiency becomes more and more critical, we are confident that we can apply the knowledge we have gained to make future sustainable projects a success.
