Having worked primarily in the historic Hudson Valley area, P&O principals have had the opportunity to provide structural engineering services for over 50 buildings that are listed on the State and/or National Historic Registry. Buildings types vary, including residences, factories, churches, and performance spaces, with ages extending up to 300 years. The majority are constructed of masonry and timber materials with cast and wrought iron auxiliary components. With this experience, P&O has developed a clear expertise on how best to assess, repair, convert, and reinforce antiquated structural systems so as to maintain the buildings historic fabric and characteristics.
